CONSTITUTION AND OBJECTS OF SEBI

Sebi was constituted on 12th April 1988 by a resolution of passed by the Government of India. The main objects is to regulate the Securities market

The statutory status was acquired on 30th january 1992 by passing SEBI Act 1992

The Act applies whole of india

Object


lTo protect the interest of investors in securities
lTo promote the development of securities market
lMake rules and regulations for the securities market
To act as policy advisor to Government of India in the aforesaid matters
